When people think about winter dates, they often get tangled up with the images of snowy mountain cabins or cuddling up in blankets. But in reality, it doesn’t snow everywhere in India and cuddling in a blanket is cheesy AF. While playing in the snow can definitely make for an awesome time, the key to winter date is planning an activity that takes advantage of the season — whether that’s taking in the gorgeous winter scenery, enjoying the weather, or using the dropping temperatures as an excuse to cozy up with your date.
Still not sure what to do to? This is where I come in, with some suggestions for winter dates to heat up your winter romance without totally cheesing you out.
A DIY Hot-Chocolate Date
Instead of going out in the cold and wait at a cafe, try to make your own hot chocolate at home. Add some marshmallows, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and sprinkles, or whatever you like. You and your partner are going to have such a great time brewing this amazing drink, and there is a chance of things to turn steamy 😉
Good Old Board Games
Make it a fun competition and let there be a prize. The winner should get some special treatment (IYKWIM) for the night or the week. Spice things a little bit, if you are playing multiple rounds.
Netflix and Cuddle?
We Netflix and chill the entire year, but winter calls for something special : Cuddling! That’s my idea of a fun winter date. Can’t decide who gets to choose the flick? You can always have “stone, paper, scissors”.
The Fake Power Cut Date
Pretend the power is out. For some reason, when the lights are out you always end up having the best time! So fake like it and create a date night. Light some candles in the dark house, have a candlelight dinner. Tell each other spooky stories or something. And you soon will realize what a great night you are having.
Some Art & Craft?
Spend some fun time together and make some DIY Cards for each other. Use all the glitters, color pens, and color tapes to make a card. Write your heartiest wishes and gift each something beautiful. Something raw, and straight from the heart.
Visit A Zoo Or A Local Attraction
Nothing is better on a sunny winter morning. If the sun is visible, go out, to the zoo or somewhere nearby. Enjoy the date in the warmth of the sun with your loved one.
Cook A Meal Date
Cooking together can be fun, so long as you can agree on the meal. You can cook something you like or experiment with something random from that cookbook. Something that you have never tried before. If you want to spice things a bit, cook separate meals and compete to cook a better dish! Fun, right?
Plan Something
You can plan your future, your expenses, kids or a vacation! Planning and researching on the internet will utilize your time well and also bring you closer. It will make you understand what you want, what your partner wants etc. You can even keep a diary to maintain your wishlist!
A Pillow Fort Date
May sound childish but learn to embrace your inner child by building a pillow fort. If you don’t have enough pillows, use blankets. Once done you can do really adult things inside it.
Karaoke Night
Good singer or bad, karaoke is always fun. There are thousands of karaoke tracks on youtube, just click on your favorite track and you are ready for the night. It will be fun. Try challenging each other with some songs, see who wins. The winner gets a prize of their desire (in kinds of course).
