It just can’t be a fancy short term attraction. Also, the type of tattoo you are going to get, may not be appealing to you later in life. So, you must make this decision carefully. Here I am compiling a list of all the things you must consider before getting a tattoo.
The Design
You must first fixate on the the type of design you want. Whether u want colors, or just single ink. And also if you want letters and names. This is a difficult decision. Sometimes you like a design but later on,maybe it goes out of trend and you may dislike it. So choose a design that means something to you. A meaningful symbol or your parents name are evergreen. Be careful if you are going for your lover’s name. If you break up, that tattoo will become a stress for you.
The Artist
Before deciding on a tattoo place, you must visit several shops and see which artist suits your style. You can also look at factors like their ratings and previous works. Also, cleanliness is an important factor here. Talk to the artist, see their portfolio and then make a decision.
The Expense
Good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good. The money required for a tattoo depends on the size, the ink, and the artist. This factors must be kept in mind before you fixate on a tattoo.
Does It Hurt?
Yes, it really hurts to get inked and everyone knows that. But there are certain areas that hurt more than other ones. For example, places with thinner skin hurt more, like fingers and face. So, you should give it a thought before getting a permanent tattoo.
Dermatologist Consultation
So skin is delicate and can get damaged easily. You don’t want to end up with scars or infection because of a tattoo. So its better if you consult a dermatologist before getting inked. Sometimes, you can get an infection after getting a tattoo and some of them aren’t easily curable They will tell you if there is any precautions you need to take or not.
Post-Inking Care
After getting a tattoo there are some skincare rules that your tattoo artist will give and you must follow them. For example no exposure to the outside world which includes no public pools or the sea for a while. You might also need a few touch-ups in the first months to stabilize the color density. So keep this effort in mind.
