Kanan Gill started out his comedy career from a Youtube Channel. You must have watched “Pretentious Movie Reviews“. But in the journey of becoming one of the best stand-up comedians of India, he had to give up the fancy job. He was working as a software engineer with Exeter Group Inc.”
Biswa Kalyan Rath
He was first seen in Kanan Gill’s Youtube channel “Pretentious Movie Reviews”. Those videos went viral very quickly. After that Biswa never looked back. However, to achieve his dreams and follow his passion, he had to give up his Well paying Job at Oracle. Oh, and I must mention here that he is an ex-IITian too!
Rahul Subramanian
Before Rahul started his ‘Udaan’ towards success, he was working as a marketing manager for the automotive union Mahindra Rise. Back then, nobody knew him, but he kept trying and did stand up comedy at various gigs and laughter clubs to rise to fame. He has a YouTube channel called Random Chikibum. Today he is celebrated everywhere and his name shines in the list of best stand-up comedians of India.
Atul Khatri
Some people get so tired of the monotony and that’s when your passion hits you. Atul Khatri used to work at a very well paying job at Kaytek Computer Services Private Limited. He started off by writing jokes on Facebook and later joined EIC, the busiest comedy group in India. He now performs at gigs and has a great YouTube fan following.
Jaspreet Singh
Our sweet and funny paaji never fails to make us laugh. I truly enjoy his very relatable content which he converts into jokes. He was working full time in the IT industry before he took the plunge in the world of stand up comedy. Jaspreet Singh has a very popular YouTube Channel, all his gig videos are available.
Kumar Varun
He is an Engineer turned IT guy turned MBA turned Brand Manager turned Stand-up comedian of India. He never fails to entertain and is commendable at what he does. You must have seen him many comedy videos from TLC and AIB.
Abish Mathew
Whenever I see his name, I quickly remember his hilarious acting from AIB’s comedy video: “A Man’s Best Friend”? He was a well paid RJ at Red FM until his passion for comedy grew and urged him to do something different. Today he is one of the best stand-up comedians of India. He has his own Talk show called Son of Abish.
NAVEEN RICHARD
Comedy is more or less in all of us. But it is only a matter of dreams and passion for some. Stand-Up comedy Had a great impact on a lawyer named Naveen Richard. We all love his jokes and the way he makes us relate to simpler things. Leaving his practice and pursuing the stand-up comedy as a profession must have taken a lot of guts.
Anshu Mor
His work experience is really huge, so take a deep breath before reading. Anshu started off with ABB Instrumentations in the export division and later moved over to tech role at Tata Telecom. Afterward tried his hands at a startup but went bust. Fate made him move to Bangalore where he joined MCI WorldCom (now Verizon) doing pre-sales and sales for 4 years. Then he joined Microsoft and spent 11 years in various roles across Enterprise Sales (Business Dev, Sales, and Strategic Alliances). After 6 years in enterprise sales, he thought to try out consumer business so jumped over to head the Xbox business at MS, which was the last position I held till the time he left in January 2016.
Neeti Palta
This gorgeous and hilarious woman Neeti Palta has changed the comedy game for women across India. She started her career in advertising and she tells us that she was among the top of her league as a senior art director at JWT. But she didn’t find it fulfilling and move out of advertising and jumped into the world of writing scripts for television and movies. Inspirational indeed.
Jeeveshu Ahluwalia
Jeeveshu Ahluwalia became fed up of his corporate job and busy lifestyle, so he started doing what he loved the most: comedy. He debuted with Zee TV in the comedy show “Gangs of Haseepur”. He has been the winner of ‘Radio Mirchi Comedy Ka King 2014’ and his stand-up videos and comedy sketches have been featured as viral videos on YouTube garnering over 22 Million Views.
