Everyone is talking about building up an impressive, shredded set of abs. It is a top fitness goal for many guys and even with 20 inch biceps the ‘six pack’ might still be a dream for some.
“What’s the best exercise to get a six-pack?” is the question in everybody’s mind, but you must know that exercise only is not going to help.
Here are some useful tips for getting a six pack for beginners:
NUTRITION Is IMPORTANT
You need to decrease your overall body fat for those abs to show. Cut down all processed/junk foods, sugars and processed carbs. Eating more vegetables, nuts, and fresh fruits, organic lean protein and healthy fats, such as olive oil, fish oils, and avocados will help you get all the nutrition you need. Eating several small meals each day and avoiding late night snacking will help you lose fat rapidly. Eat protein for breakfast and drink water instead of calorie-laden beverages. Don’t cut carbs and calories drastically or you could inadvertently lower your metabolism.
High Intensity Training
Simply modifying your diet or reducing your calories without exercise will lead to initial weight loss, but you’re likely to reach a plateau and you may also lose muscle.
To get fit faster and burn more calories in less time, don’t spend all your time in the fat-burning zone. Adding some High Intensity Training (HIT) to your workouts a couple times each week will boost your overall cardiovascular fitness. Aerobic exercises are a safe way to burn lots of calories over a long period of time while they also help in maintaining heart health and toning your muscles.
Build More Muscle
Strength training is an essential part of most fitness routines, but for a six pack, building more muscle is important. Strength training with weight lifting helps build muscle, boost metabolism and increase muscle definition. It is also a great way to burn lots of calories in a short time.
Perform Abdominal and Core Exercises
Once you’ve reduced the layer of body fat to the point where you can find your six pack, you need to perform specific ab and core strengthening exercises to make them much more visible. The plank is a great exercise to help you find your six-pack. Doing it properly and maintaining a straight line from ears to toes is important. Holding it for 10 seconds and building up to 30, 45 or 60 seconds will help you reach your goal faster.
Drink More WATER
No matter what your fitness goals, staying hydrated is crucial to improve your performance. You have to drink a lot of water if you want to see the abs you’ve been working so hard to sculpt. Keeping your water levels up prevents water retention and helps your body rid itself of toxins and excess salt to reduce bloat. And if you’re puffy, your abs are not going to look chiseled.
Come on guys, go ahead and start building up your six-pack musculature while chiseling your midsection!
