Why Are Men Considered Emotional Gold Diggers?

by Editor

In this male-dominated world, men are scared to show that they have emotions at all. By constantly reminding them that boys don’t cry, we don’t know when did feelings become a ‘female thing’ instead of being a human trait. And that is the reason why the majority of men are struggling with their emotions and at times don’t even know how they feel when they are sad. They are afraid to talk to anyone about their feelings because they think they are not supposed to have any and that is completely false. Having feelings does not make you any less of a man.

When a person is struggling emotionally the best therapy is, To Talk. But now that the society has scared the male population to talk about their feelings they are afraid to open up to anyone. It’s a fact that sometimes even their closest friend does not have an idea about how they are feeling. And this is why the only option they are left with is to talk to their girlfriend /spouse / partner. In a relationship when they develop trust with their lover over time, they feel that it is safe to talk to them. Women are always emotionally available for their partner if they are true towards them and are always there to comfort them and in this way, they become their safe place to fall.

However, with time sometimes men start relying too much on their woman for their emotional needs and starts neglecting that they have to be emotionally available for their girlfriend too. This has a direct connection with men having a fear of commitment because for generations they have been taught to neglect their own feelings and instinct and as a result, they become the bearers of toxic masculinity.

On the other hand, women are taught to be sensitive and emotional so they are expected to be the only species that we can look for emotional support in. The aura of women is comforting for people because they are taught how to own their feelings. That is why they are never afraid to show their sentiments and sometimes have an emotional response to everything that happens. And this is the reason why men find it easy to share and open up about their feelings to them.

But sometimes knowingly or unknowingly they start drowning their partner in their own emotional burden. And after all this, they are not even emotionally present in their relationship to listen to their woman or know about their feelings. Slowly it becomes exhausting and the relationship starts having little cracks before you know it. Women often start feeling empty in this kind of relationship and began to have some psychological disorders. And that is what we call emotional gold-digging. Well, I don’t know where it stands in comparison with simple gold-digging but I am sure it is exactly as bad.
